I’m 39 years old and a fullstack developer. I’ve been working with Plone on and off since 2005 and have attended several Plone conferences over the years, including Naples, Arnhem, Budapest, and Brazil.
For nearly 14 years, I worked as a developer and team leader at 4teamwork in Switzerland, where we built websites and custom web applications for cities, cantons, and municipalities using Plone and Django.
In 2020, I immigrated to the U.S. to marry my wife, who I met while traveling in New Zealand in 2017.
In 2022, a colleague, Christoph Brütsch, and I founded Webcloud7, a Swiss company. Our goal from the beginning was to build a new product on top of Plone 6 Classic UI, with a focus on upselling services such as data migrations from Plone 4/5 to Plone 6.
"Time to market" was critical for our success, so we chose to use Plone 6 Classic UI and outsource frontend development.
Webcloud7 is a small team of just five people – and we plan to keep it that way. Instead of growing headcount, we scale through technology and strong partnerships. One great example is our collaboration with Six Feet Up in the U.S., who helped us develop a Kubernetes cluster that allows us to scale and run all our services without hiring a dedicated system engineer.
In my free time, I love to travel and play football (well – soccer, depending on who you ask).
