Since you don't own a nuclear reactor the answer will likely be no. But Germany does and for 20 years Plone is powering an application that manages radiological events. In this talk will show why that is a good idea.

Details

Countries need to be prepared for nuclear emergencies on their own soil of across the border. Since 20 years Plone is powering an application of the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS) of Germany that manages radiological events. In the event of a radiological emergency the platform Dokpool is used to collect and organize information that is needed to manage that emergency.

I will show what the system does and which characteristics of Plone are vital to provide a stable platform for such a part of critical infrastructure.

The project started as Plone 2.5 and runs now on Plone 6.1. I will cover some aspects of the latest migration to Python 3 as well as some of the very technical aspects of that application like Variations of Content-Types and Instance Behaviors. Currently we're developing a new GUI for Dokpool using Plone Classic and Patternslib.
